Belarus, Czechia to bolster ties in agriculture

During the meeting. Photo by MFAMINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Czechia will hold more bilateral events to develop agricultural cooperation. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Czechia Valery Kurdyukov and Czech Agriculture Minister Marian Jurecka reached the agreement as they met on 12 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The sides exchanged views on prospects for Belarus-Czechia cooperation in agriculture, reviewed the performance of the Belarusian-Czech working group on agriculture, and also agreed to increase the number of bilateral events,” the press service said.

The meeting was held as part of the visit of a delegation of Belarusian milk processing companies to Czechia where the Belarusians plan to learn more about Czech equipment used in agriculture and food industry.

Ambassador Valery Kurdyukov met with Director of the Foreign Economic Policy Department of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade of Martin Pospisil on 12 September. They considered hosting a Belarusian business day during the international engineering trade fair MSV 2017 in Brno, Czechia and discussed new formats and venues to hold meetings between Belarusian and Czech businessmen.

Ambassador Valery Kurdyukov and Martin Pospisilon put special focus on prospects for interregional cooperation and the implementation of the agreements reached at the ninth session of the Belarusian-Czech commission for economic, industrial, and scientific cooperation.
