MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation visited Beijing to participate in the China Education Expo on 16-22 February. The exposition “Education in Belarus” presented educational programs of leading Belarusian universities, BelTA learned from the press service of the Education Ministry.

“As of today, more than 530 direct cooperation agreements have been signed between educational institutions of Belarus and China. Mutual academic mobility has been growing for many years. About 8,000 Chinese citizens study at educational institutions of our country, almost 500 Belarusians study at universities of China. We are actively working on establishment of joint educational facilities. There are seven of them now: three laboratories, two centers and two institutes. The possibility of organizing joint training of senior researchers is also under discussion. Educational institutions of the two countries are implementing 40 joint educational programs of the first and second stages of higher education, 10 of which were developed in the last two years,” the press service informed.

During the exhibition Belarusian representatives met with the Secretary General China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) Wang Yongli and division head of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education of China Liu Jianqing. During the visit the Belarusian delegation also visited Langfang Shugao High School (Xianghe County), the largest consulting agencies Talent Education Charitable Foundation, Jin Jile, Beijing Hangzhou Learning Co., Ltd, China’s higher education institutions - Beijing Language and Culture University and Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture.

“During the talks at the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the parties discussed the possibility for Belarusian higher education institutions to join the international engineering and architecture consortium of educational institutions. As a result of the meetings of the representatives of the Belarusian universities in the Chinese universities and consulting companies a total of 17 agreements on cooperation in educational services were signed, and 16 agreements were prepared for signing. The organizers and participants of the exhibition noted the high level of presentation of Belarusian educational opportunities, which will contribute to the prestige of the Belarusian education,” the Education Ministry said.
