Belarus called one of Laos’ closest friends

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov met with President Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos during his visit to the country, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

“The highlight of Maksim Ryzhenkov’s visit to Laos was his meeting with President Thongloun Sisoulith. The president warmly recalled his previous meetings with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Thongloun Sisoulith conveyed his best wishes to his Belarusian counterpart, calling Belarus one of Laos’ closest friends,” the ministry reported.

In response, Maksim Ryzhenkov conveyed greetings from the Belarusian head of state and renewed the invitation for the president of Laos to visit Belarus at any convenient time. The invitation was graciously accepted.
