Belarus, Bulgaria discuss prospects of economic cooperation

MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Bulgaria discussed cooperation prospects at the session of the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation on 1-2 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The commission was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna on Belarus’ behalf and Deputy Economy Minister Daniela Vezieva on Bulgaria’s behalf. The session focused on a wide range of issues, including cooperation in the manufacturing sector and agriculture, investment, science, transport, tourism, education, regional interaction.

After the session the sides signed a final protocol. The sides praised the results of the session, mentioned the enhancement and regularity of bilateral contacts at all levels and pointed out a huge potential for the development of Belarus-Bulgaria relations in all avenues.

Apart from that, there was a Belarusian-Bulgarian business forum. It was attended by the representatives of Belarusian and Bulgarian business circles. As part of the forum, the Belarusian side organized presentation of the country’s export potential and investment attractiveness. The delegation of Gomel Oblast also visited Burgas Province under the aegis of the intergovernmental commission. The visit was aimed at developing relations between the two regions.
