Belarus, Azerbaijan reaffirm interest in advancing military technology cooperation

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Azerbaijan have reaffirmed interest in advancing military technology cooperation across a broad spectrum, BelTA learned from Vladimir Lavrenyuk, spokesman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus.

The 15th international defense industry fair IDEF 2021 opened in Istanbul, Turkey on 17 August. It is one of the world’s top ten defense industry expos and is one of the most significant weaponry shows in Europe.

Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus met with Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Gasanov and Defense Industry Minister of Azerbaijan Madat Guliyev on the first day of IDEF 2021.

The sides discussed the current state of military technology cooperation and reaffirmed interest in advancing this cooperation across a broad spectrum.

The fair will last through 20 August.
