Belarus-Azerbaijan interparliamentary cooperation viewed as vibrant

MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) - Interparliamentary cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan has always been vibrant, Deputy Chairwoman of the Standing Commission on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media of the House of Representatives, Deputy Head of the Working Group on Cooperation with the Parliament of Azerbaijan Liliya Ananich told the media. She attended the meeting between Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Belarus Ulvi Bakhshaliyev on 3 November, BelTA has learned.

“One of the forms of cooperation is parliamentary working groups. It is important to facilitate the political processes that we are actively developing. There is full understanding at the level of the heads of state and government. The economic commission is working on the relevant issues. It is very important that the parliamentary interaction bring economic benefits, too,” said Liliya Ananich.

According to her, it is crucial to maintain relations in the international arena. “Belarus traditionally supports Azerbaijan in all initiatives. The working group is an effective tool for parliamentary, humanitarian cooperation, development of human contacts and cooperation at all parliamentary platforms. We see our task in activating this work and would like the two working groups to meet either in Minsk or in Azerbaijan. We will talk about it,” said Liliya Ananich.

“I am sure that rich experience of cooperation both in the format of participation of our parliamentary missions in election observation and in the development of economic contacts will be in demand at the new stage of cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan,” Liliya Ananich said.
