Belarus, Azerbaijan hail strong momentum in bilateral dialogue

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Samir Sharifov on 28 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties praised the strong momentum of the Belarus-Azerbaijan dialogue at the highest and high levels, friendly and constructive interstate relations, and the results achieved in trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The meeting also reaffirmed the interest in further intensifying cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

On the same day, political consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Azerbaijan took place in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Utyupin, while the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Samir Sharifov.

“The participants in the consultations discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the Belarusian-Azerbaijani political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, and humanitarian interaction,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted. “Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest and high levels, as well as to coordinating the schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts.”

Furthermore, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive interaction and mutual support within global and regional international organizations.

The participants positively assessed the state of the legal framework of bilateral cooperation and agreed on its qualitative development.

“Following the consultations, the course toward further strengthening mutual trust and deepening the strategic partnership relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan was reaffirmed,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
