MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Austria intend to advance their interparliamentary dialogue. The matter was discussed during the latest meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Valery Voronetsky and First Deputy Chairman of the National Council of Austria Karlheinz Kopf, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA. Valery Voronetsky’s diplomatic mission in Austria is nearing completion.
During the meeting the sides discussed topical aspects of Belarus-Austria interaction in political affairs, trade, economy, and other areas. Close attention was paid to prospects of advancing the bilateral interparliamentary dialogue and cooperation, including efforts to build on the arrangements reached during Karlheinz Kopf’s visit to Belarus and his negotiations with top officials of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament.
During the meeting the sides expressed their interest in intensifying Belarusian-Austrian relations and in stepping up mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas.
Once his diplomatic mission in Austria is over, Valery Voronetsky will work in the Belarusian parliament. He has been elected Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
