MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa took part in a working meeting with Pakistan’s National SCO Coordinator Muhammad Faisal in Islamabad on August 19, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Pakistan.
The event brought together ambassadors and chargйs d'affaires of SCO member states accredited in Pakistan, officials from the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and diplomats from SCO member countries. The meeting discussed a number of organizational issues related to Pakistan’s upcoming SCO chairmanship.

Belarus became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on 4 July 2024 when the corresponding decision was signed during the SCO summit in Astana. The main goals of the SCO focus on cooperation to maintain and strengthen strengthening peace, security and stability and to promote economic growth, social and cultural development.
