MOSCOW, 4 June (BelTA) - Talks between Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov and Governor of Russia’s Tver Oblast Vitaly Korolev took place on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 4 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“The dialogue traditionally began with a discussion of the bilateral agenda. A decision was made to exchange business missions in the very near future. We also agreed to organize a visit by an official delegation of the Republic of Belarus to Tver at the end of July and to develop an action plan for 2027–2028,” the press service said.

The ambassador and the governor discussed in detail the supply of passenger and firefighting vehicles. “MAZ has already made its mark in the region: a Tver Oblast delegation visited the enterprise, and in April 2026, a diesel bus assembled in part using Tver-made components was delivered to the Russian region for testing. Belarus is ready to supply MAZ passenger vehicles to the region and offers a wide range of financial instruments to support equipment exports,” the press service said.

Another area for potential joint projects is cooperation in flax farming and land reclamation. The Russian region has a program titled Development of the Flax Industry Complex of Tver Oblast. Given Belarus’ expertise in this field, Yuri Seliverstov reaffirmed Belarus’ readiness to participate in the technical re-equipment of regional enterprises and to supply the necessary machinery. The parties also discussed Belarus’ experience and potential in land reclamation, the possibility of Belarusian organizations taking part in such work, and the supply of Belarusian equipment. Additionally, both parties confirmed their interest in cooperation between the companies Mogilevliftmash and Tverliftmash.

“Vitaly Korolev put forward proposals to hold Days of Tver Oblast in Belarus, as well as to open a Belarus House in the Russian region and a Tver Oblast House in Belarus,” the embassy added.
