Belarus ambassador presents credentials to Chile president

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Argentina with concurrent accreditation to Chile Vladimir Astapenko has presented his credentials to Chile President Sebastian Pinera, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The solemn ceremony was held in the presidential palace La Moneda. Taking part in the ceremony were also Chile Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodoro Ribera and other officials.

“During a brief conversation after the ceremony, the parties discussed ways to intensify cooperation in various areas, including in implementation of commercial and investment projects,” the press service noted.

During his stay in Santiago, Vladimir Astapenko will meet with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, heads of several diplomatic missions accredited in the country, and representatives of the local business circles.
