MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarus Ambassador to Hungary Alexander Khainovsky was awarded Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary, BelTA learned form the Belarusian ministry of foreign affairs.
The Hungarian president has awarded the Belarusian diplomat in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations between Belarus and Hungary.
Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Zsolt Csutora presented the award to the Belarusian ambassador in an official ceremony in Budapest on 31 July.
“This high state award is an acknowledgment of our close and friendly bilateral relations. I also see it as recognition of collective efforts by our Embassy in Budapest since its establishment,” Ambassador Alexander Khainovsky said.
The Order of Merit of Hungary was established in 1922 as the highest award in the country. It has several degrees. Commander's Cross is the award third class. It is presented by the president for significant contribution to the development of Hungary's relations with other countries, support for Hungarian culture, art and science.
