Belarus’ ambassador attends ceremony to mark 50 years of Paris Peace Accords

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov has attended a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Viet Nam, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

According to the embassy, the event is of exceptional importance not only for the Vietnamese history. It marked an important milestone in the history of international relations.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Politburo and Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and also by the deputy chairperson of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son spoke at the event in the presence of the former head of the delegation of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Vietnam, foreign diplomats, former Vietnamese officials and historians.

The first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony took place for a special stamp to mark the event.
