Azerbaijan’s, Belarus’ common approach to world problems noted

BAKU, 25 April (BelTA-Trend) – Belarus-Azerbaijan cooperation on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international organizations testifies to the unity of approaches and views of the two countries on world problems. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement during his visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, BelTA has learned.

Cooperation between the two countries is very versatile and includes not only trade but the establishment of joint ventures. Approaches to new projects were discussed during the high-level meeting on 25 April, said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

“The joint project designed to make mechanical engineering products in Ganja operates successfully. It involves not only Azerbaijani and Belarusian companies but third-country ones. The fact indicates the high competitive ability and relevance of the projects. I believe that a major trade and logistics project that has been created in Belarus and has in essence started working already is a good one. We intend to consider ways to implement its next stage,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

In his words, new investment projects may be implemented in the future. In particular, the sides may take part in the Silk Road Economic Belt project.

Mikhail Myasnikovich also mentioned the role the heads of state play in the development of relations between the two countries. “Relations of a very high level and trust have evolved between our heads of state. To a large extent they determine the very spirit and the scale of relations between the two countries. The civil societies are guided by the messages originating from the heads of state,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

“We have good prospects thanks to the correct structure of Belarus-Azerbaijan relations. Our nations can rest assured that we are in for not only good projects but higher living standards of our people as well,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

While in Baku Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich met with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev. During the meeting the successful advancement of bilateral relations in political, economic, and other spheres was stressed. It was noted that interparliamentary cooperation makes its own contribution to the advancement of the bilateral relations.

Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that he had been to Azerbaijan four years before. Mikhail Myasnikovich said he had noticed sweeping changes in Azerbaijan’s capital city since his previous visit. Mikhail Myasnikovich underlined the importance of organizing various prestigious events of the international caliber in Azerbaijan, including the 7th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations.

In turn, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said he had been to Belarus on official visits many times. Every time he witnessed development, progress, order, and sincerity in the country. The head of state underlined that the world and Europe attach great significance to the role and successful development of Belarus these days. He congratulated Belarus on all the accomplishments and noted that Belarus and Azerbaijan take joy in each other’s success. Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of Belarus taking part in the 7th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilization. The Azerbaijan President said he considers it as an indicator of the significance Belarus attaches to the forum and of the country’s respect for Azerbaijan.
