MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – A traffic control center in Belarus will be set up by the Austrian company Kapsch TrafficCom, BelTA learned from the company.

Such a center is envisaged in the Transit Corridor Modernization project financed through the World Bank loans. At the international competition Kapsch TrafficCom has been selected as the contractor for the development, implementation and maintenance of the new traffic control center and the supply of various components of the intelligent transport system (CCTV, motion detectors, etc.).

The innovative system will make it possible to manage intercity traffic and road infrastructure. The system automates the collection and visualization of traffic data in real time. This will help operators to detect and respond to dangerous traffic conditions, accidents and emergencies. The information can then be quickly distributed to drivers, road maintenance organizations and others stakeholders.

Kapsch TrafficCom is part of the Kapsch Group, headquartered in Vienna, and has branches and subsidiaries in more than 30 countries. In the fiscal year 2019/20 Kapsch TrafficCom with a total of 5,100 employees generated revenues of  €731.2 million.
