MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – The public association "Austrian-Belarusian Society" promotes all-round cooperation between Belarus and Austria. The statement was made at the meeting of the society in Vienna, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Austria.

Andrei Shuplyak, Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Belarus in Austria, praised in his greeting speech the activity of the society and expressed gratitude to the management and friends of the organization for its contribution to the development of the Belarusian-Austrian ties. He confirmed the readiness of the Belarusian embassy for further cooperation. The participants of the meeting discussed the results of the activity of the society during the year and outlined prospects for 2015.

The importance of the activities conducted by the society was also emphasized by member of the Board of the Association of Austrian-Foreign Societies, Ambassador at Austria’s Foreign Ministry Erwin Kubesch who attended the event as an official representative of the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

The meeting was followed by a concert of the Belarusian choir Belaya Rusiya at the Palais Palffy of Vienna. The concert featured Belarusian folk pieces and popular melodies. The concert was the last event in the traditional Austrian pre-Christmas tour that included numerous concerts on the stages of Vienna and Lower Austria.
