MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Armenia seeks to adopt Belarus’ best practices in transplantology and e-Health, Armenia’s Healthcare Minister Arsen Torosyan said at the meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Valery Malashko, BelTA has learned.
“Armenia would like to study the successful track record of Belarus in transplantology. The number of people who have to undergo hemodialysis grows year to year, that is why we take interest in kidney transplants. Of course, liver and heart transplant surgeries are of interest to us, too, but we understand that we should start with the easiest,” Arsen Torosyan said.
Another promising area for exchange of experience is e-Health. “Our e-Health operator is curious about your electronic system,” the minister noted.
According to him, Belarus and Armenia could also boost cooperation in drug procurement. For example, the ministers discussed the medicine for patients with hepatitis C. In 2019, Armenia plans to launch a state program on treating this disease.
During the official trip to Belarus on 28-30 January, the delegation of Armenia’s healthcare ministry are scheduled to visit the research center for pediatric oncology, hematology and immunology, N. N. Alexandrov National Cancer Center of Belarus, Minsk research center for surgery, transplantology, and hematology, and Belarusian State Medical University.
