Andreichenko holds bilateral talks on sidelines of Speakers of Parliaments of Eurasia meeting

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko held a number of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the third meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Eurasia in Antalya, Turkey, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Turkey.

Vladimir Andreichenko met with Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin to discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation and preparation for the forthcoming events of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Vladimir Andreichenko also met with Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Speaker of the legislative house of Oliy Majlis Nuriddinjon Ismailov.

Vladimir Andreichenko also met with Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Turkmenistan Kasymguli Babayev, and Turkish businessmen.

Issues of the forthcoming joint work as part of the upcoming CSTO PA events on 29-30 October were discussed at a meeting with Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Kazakh parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin.

Vladimir Andreichenko met with Chairman of the National Council of Slovakia Andrej Danko to discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation.

“The meetings were used to discuss further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation and interaction at the bilateral and multilateral levels,” the embassy said.

As BelTA reported earlier, the third session of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Eurasia will be held through 10 October. The theme of the meeting is economic cooperation, environment and sustainable development in Eurasia. Participants in the forum will discuss ways and opportunities to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the Eurasian countries, expand inter-parliamentary ties. Vladimir Andreichenko is expected to deliver a speech on the theme of the session.
