Andreichenko: Belarus, Kyrgyzstan develop relations in a consistent manner

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are developing relations in a consistent manner, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Speaker of Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev in Minsk on 5 October, BelTA has learned.

“The relations between our peoples, between the two countries are built on a consistent basis. Inter-parliamentary relations play an important role here, of course,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The speaker paid special attention to the interaction of the countries in the international arena. “Today’s times are very difficult and we, MPs, should interact with each other more actively. The transition to a multipolar world requires us to be united to actively resist the attacks coming at our peoples both from the West and the United States,” he emphasized. “We are against all kinds of blackmail and sanctions. Today, however, discrimination and a sanctions policy is applied against the Republic of Belarus.”

Belarus is a peace-loving country. “We pursue a peaceful policy,” Vladimir Andreichenko added. “We are interested in peace, stability, economic development, better living standards for our people. This is the most important policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Belarus. These notions are the basis of the SCO. We are gearing up to join this organization and finalizing all necessary procedures. We thank you for the support from Kyrgyzstan.”

“Today it is fundamentally important that we meet more often, because there are forces that are trying to divide us, and you see it. In such a difficult situation we should always show wisdom and find solutions to the most difficult issues,” the speaker stated.

A parliamentary delegation of Kyrgyzstan led by Speaker of Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) Nurlanbek Shakiev is paying an official visit to Belarus on 4-6 October at the invitation of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. The program of the visit includes meetings with the leadership of the National Assembly of Belarus, Minsk City Hall, tours of social and humanitarian organizations and enterprises of the Belarusian capital, and a ceremony to sign a document on cooperation between the parliaments of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
