MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Türkiye is committed to deepening and expanding its relationship with Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Belarus Güçlü Cem Işık said at a ceremony to mark the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
“As the first country to recognize Belarus’ independence, Türkiye attaches great importance to relations with it. The friendly relations between Türkiye and Belarus, based on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation, are growing stronger every year,” the diplomat emphasized.
He welcomed progress to promote bilateral cooperation, including at the parliamentary level. “This evening we are celebrating our national day in the presence of members of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, specifically the chairman and four members of the Türkiye-Belarus interparliamentary friendship group,” the ambassador noted.
Güçlü Cem Işık pointed to the growing number of contacts and mutual visits as a clear reflection of deepening bilateral ties. He noted that in recent months alone, Minsk has welcomed several Turkish delegations, including groups focused on plastic surgery, educational cooperation, and representatives of the ASKON business association, who participated in the International Forum on Economic Cooperation. The diplomat also underscored the importance of the visit of the chairman of the Supreme Election Council of Türkiye to the 2nd International Electoral Forum in Minsk.
“These visits demonstrate our commitment to developing cooperation with Belarus in various formats and on a wide range of issues: from trade and science to sports and education. These efforts will certainly continue,” the ambassador assured.
The head of the diplomatic mission also read a message from his country’s leader, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
