Ambassador: Belarus seeks closer interaction with Vietnam

MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov took part in the New Year’ s government reception for diplomats upon the invitation of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

Addressing representatives of the diplomatic corps, the prime minister reaffirmed Vietnam’s unwavering commitment to independence and self-reliance. According to him, Vietnam is a good friend, reliable partner, active and responsible member of the international community that actively contributes to the common efforts to build a better future for the region and the world.

Phạm Minh Chính also expressed a wish that the ambassadors accredited to Vietnam continue to effectively strengthen bilateral relations. He wished them many successes on the path to peaceful development, cooperation, happiness and prosperity.

The ambassador of Belarus had a brief conversation with the Vietnamese prime minister. He wished Phạm Minh Chính Happy Lunar New Year, thanked him for his efforts to promote cooperation, and expressed hope for closer cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

On the sidelines of the event, the Belarusian side held a brief exchange of views on some aspects of the international and bilateral agenda with a number of high-ranking government officials of Vietnam, as well as with heads of diplomatic missions.
