MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) - Belarus and China are truly all-weather partnersChinese Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming told BelTA as he attended, among other guests, the annual address of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on 4 August.

Ambassador Cui Qiming stressed that in his address the president gave a wise and correct assessment of the international situation. “Belarus plays an important role in maintaining regional stability and peace in the world. The country’s international influence has been constantly increasing,” the Chinese diplomat said. He drew attention that Aleksandr Lukashenko highlighted the importance of the development of the Chinese-Belarusian relations in his address.

“Today the Chinese-Belarusian relations of the trust-based comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation are at a high level. The countries support each other in matters of key interest to both the parties. Belarus and China are ‘all-weather’ partners in fact. China is ready to expand cooperation with Belarus as part of the joint Belt and Road project, advance the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone as well as mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas for achieving even greater results, and also further the Chinese-Belarusian relations,” the ambassador said.

Ambassador Cui Qiming said: “China will continue to support Belarus in its way of development. We wish you the successful conduct of the presidential election and are confident that the Belarusian people will make the right choice.”
