In Baku Sergei Aleinik is set to take part in the ministerial meeting of the countries participating in the Non-Aligned Movement, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The Non-Aligned Movement was formed in 1961 to defend the interests of developing countries in the context of the Cold War confrontation. Today, it has 120 member states, or 60% of the membership of the United Nations. 18 states and 10 organizations have an observer status in the NAM.
Belarus has been a member of the Non-Aligned Movement since 1998.
