MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – A routine meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin took place on 15 September, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.

According to the source, the sides discussed the most important matters concerning the development of the bilateral relations, interaction within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union. Close attention was paid to the advancement of common interests of Belarus and Russia in the international scene, including in international organizations.

The meeting also touched upon the sanctions enforced by the European Union and the USA against Russia.
