MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) - The second meeting of the intergovernmental joint committee on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi on 21-22 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
On 25 August, the topic was high on the agenda of a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Roman Golovchenko and UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al Raisi. During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of the visit of Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei to Abu Dhabi to attend the second meeting of the joint committee.
Roman Golovchenko congratulated Mr Mohammed Al Raisi on his appointment to high office and expressed the hope for continued fruitful cooperation and further strengthening of the mutually beneficial all-round cooperation between Belarus and the UAE.
In 2008-2010 Mohammed Al Raisi was the UAE’s first Ambassador to Belarus. In 2010-2014 he led the UAE diplomatic mission in France.
