2021 hailed as landmark year for Belarus-China cooperation in Chinese traditional medicine

2021 hailed as landmark year for Belarus-China cooperation in Chinese traditional medicine

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) - This year is a landmark year for cooperation between Belarus and China in the field of Chinese traditional medicine, Head of the Administration of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone Aleksandr Yaroshenko said at an event to launch the publication "Main aspects of admission to the market of medical devices and medicines", BelTA reports.

"The industrial park is turning into a hub for the traditional Chinese medicine in Belarus. This year is a landmark year for strengthening cooperation in this area. We welcomed the first resident - Novoera Biotech. Currently, we are completing work on the project to design a polyclinic that will house a center of traditional Chinese medicine,” Aleksandr Yaroshenko noted.

The head of the administration pledged all-round support to the first pilot project on traditional Chinese medicine in the country. In this regard, the publication presented today "Main aspects of admission to the market of medical devices and medicines" is especially relevant and timely, he noted. It will be useful for both current and future residents of the park, whose activities will be related to medicine.

Great Stone is focused on the most advanced industries. This year the state has been actively supporting the healthcare projects, Aleksandr Yaroshenko said. He added that Decree No.215 will come into force on 17 September. “Biopharmaceuticals, the production of medical goods, healthcare and laboratory diagnosis will be among the priorities of the Great Stone joint project. According to the document, a number of regulations in the healthcare sector will be eased. All this creates ample opportunities for further development of the corresponding cluster in the Great Stone and the arrival of new participants in medical services,” Aleksandr Yaroshenko said.

According to Deputy Healthcare Minister  Boris Androsyuk, China is a strategic partner for Belarus. This can be confirmed by the fact that Belarus was the first to provide humanitarian assistance to China when the country faced an outbreak of the coronavirus infection. China reciprocated later. The memorandum on cooperation between Novoera Biotech (China) and the Center for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare signed on 24 August will give another impetus to the Belarusian-Chinese relations, the deputy minister said.
