Belarusian State Agricultural Academy (BSAA) is the oldest and largest multidisciplinary higher education institution with an agricultural focus in the CIS and Europe. Its history dates back to 1840. Among agricultural universities, the BSAA is not only the largest in the country but also boasts a unique base for hands-on, practical learning. Its facilities include the Uchkhoz BSAA training and experimental farm, a school-farm for 280 cows featuring five different milking technologies, and Belarus' largest fish hatchery - an industrial complex for breeding young valuable commercial fish species. The academy also maintains numerous experimental and selection fields. Future specialists complete their practical training at 66 departmental branches established within 26 agricultural organizations and 17 research and design institutes. Today, the total enrollment at Belarusian State of the Orders of the October Revolution and the Order of the Labor Red Banner Agricultural Academy stands at 10,000 students.
