Belarus hosting Week of Belarus-Japan Friendship

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Belarus is hosting the Week of Belarus-Japan Friendship on 11-16 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Japan.

The Japanese folk group Manjusaka together with the Belarusian artists will give concerts in Minsk, Mogilev, Molodechno, Bragin and Shklov to mark Year of People’s Unity. The key event will take place in the Big Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society on 16 October.

The artists have already visited the Mir and Nesvizh castles, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

“This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster and the 10th anniversary of the Fukushima Daiichi accident, tragedies that have closely connected the peoples of Belarus and Japan,” the diplomatic mission said.

The event has been organized by the initiative of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and the Belarusian embassy in Japan, and supported by the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gomel, Minsk, Mogilev oblast executive committees, Bragin, Molodechno and Shklov district executive committees, the Presidential Sports Club, the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society and the Belarusian-Japanese Business Club.
