Vovk: Cooperation with China, India, Pakistan to promote Belarus’ industrial development

MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – Cooperation with China, India, and Pakistan will give a strong impetus to Belarus’ industrial development, Belarusian Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk told journalists on 19 June, BelTA has learned.

Today Belarusian manufacturers are facing the task of identifying areas of common interest with Chinese, Indian, and Pakistani partners through the creation of joint enterprises and development of industrial cooperation, the minister noted.

Certain steps have already been taken in this direction. “We have agreed with our Pakistani and Indian partners on setting up assembling plants and organizing direct supplies of our vehicles,” Vitaly Vovk said. “This does not mean that we will supply our products only to India and Pakistan. We will use these countries to enter the markets of their bordering countries and increase our export potential,” the minister stressed.

Besides, efforts are being made to tap into the African market. Negotiations on supplies to Zimbabwe are already in progress. Vitaly Vovk said that a variety of tools, including financial ones, will be used to enhance the competitiveness of Belarusian products in Africa.
