Volfovich: European Union is not interested in peace today

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – The European Union is not interested in peace today. State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Volfovich said: “We see how aggressively Europe accepted information about these peace processes in the first few days. Europe is not interested in peace today. It may be the most terrible thing.”

He described as ridiculous the situation when on the one hand, an alleged desire to stop combat operations is demonstrated while on the other hand, Ukraine keeps getting funding and ammunition from the European Union in addition to all kinds of supplies for combat operations. “In other words, they keep getting Ukraine ready for waging the war. It may be stupid and ridiculous. And the most important thing is that nobody considers the original reasons the Russian Federation president has talked about. They are not interested in it,” Aleksandr Volfovich noted.

“Certainly, I’d love [U.S. President Donald] Trump to see its proposal to a logical conclusion and help terminate combat operations and help achieve peace between the Russian Federation and Ukraine,” the official added.
