Ulakhovich: Foreign business shows more interest in Belarus

MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) – The interest of foreign business in Belarus is increasing, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told reporters prior to the Belarusian-Japanese business meeting, BelTA has learned.

"Today alone we are hosting two big economic events: the Chinese -Belarusian forum on trade and economic cooperation with the province of Qinghai and the Belarusian-Japanese business meeting. It shows that the business interest in our country has been growing. This highlights the role that Belarus plays today within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, and as an industrial country facing both the EEU and the EU,” said Vladimir Ulakhovich.

The business meeting in Minsk has brought together the executives of about 20 leading Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi Motors Russia, Hitachi Construction Machinery, Sojitz, and Panasonic Russia. "These are the flagships of Japanese business. From our side, virtually all sectors have expressed interest in this event because Japan is a high-tech country, with high-tech industries," Vladimir Ulakhovich said.
