MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) - Minsk has been, remains, and will continue to be a place of peace, Artem Dmytruk, a member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, said in the latest episode of BelTA’s project V Teme [On Point].
Commenting on the fact that Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko proposed that Vladimir Zelensky meet anywhere in Ukraine or Belarus to discuss pressing issues, as well as Ukraine’s position on the matter. “When this is said by Aleksandr Lukashenko, the leader of an independent, sovereign and strong state - Belarus - that is one thing. We can examine it, analyze it, draw conclusions and conduct political analysis.”
“We make a serious mistake when we try to apply the same method of analysis to statements made, for example, by Zelensky, who is simply working for one of the Western militarized projects, nothing more. He is a terrible liar. None of his statements or agreements will ever have anything in common with reality,” Artem Dmytruk said, adding that Zelensky’s speeches are aimed at both a domestic audience and Western partners.
According to the expert, Minsk has been, remains, and will continue to be a place of peace: “That is, the place where the issue of ending the conflict in Ukraine will ultimately be resolved. Minsk will serve as this center of stabilization. It does not matter when it happens: under current US President Donald Trump, his administration, or the next president of the United States. But a reasonable dialogue will only take place in Minsk. The militant Western groups, including their associate Zelensky, understand this very well. They will do everything possible to escalate tensions and, plainly speaking, do something nasty to Minsk, Belarus and Aleksandr Lukashenko personally.”
“Minsk stands for peace. And this does not align in any way with their activities, behavior or way of life. Who in the world today can realistically offer us peace and a solution to this conflict? No one. Attempts have been made everywhere, and nowhere has it worked. The only path to peace was, is and will be Minsk. Everyone understands this. That is why they are trying to destroy the only stable system left in the world today,” Artem Dmytruk said. He added that, in his opinion, U.S. representatives visit Minsk to understand how Belarus became the only place in the world where meaningful dialogue is still possible.
