Tsereteli: OSCE PA appreciates constructive position of Belarus

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) - The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly appreciates the constructive position of Belarus, OSCE PA President George Tsereteli said during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko in Baku, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The meeting was held on the margins of the ceremonial events to mark the the centennial anniversary of the Azerbaijani Parliament in Baku. “During the conversation with OSCE PA President George Tsereteli acknowledged the constructive position of Belarus on current issues on the agenda, and expressed willingness to continue productive cooperation,” the press service noted.

Vladimir Andreichenko also held talks with Chairman of the Milli Mejlis Oktay Asadov of Azerbaijan. The parties discussed in detail the topical issues of bilateral cooperation, the prospects for deepening the interparliamentary dialogue and interaction in the international parliamentary organizations. Particular attention was paid to the preparations for the second conference of the Silk Road Support Group of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly due in Minsk in spring of 2019. These themes were also addressed in a conversation with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Binali Yildirim of Turkey. The parties also discussed a meeting of speakers of Eurasian countries to be held in Turkey in October. The inter-parliamentary, trade and economic cooperation was high on the agenda of a meeting with the head of the delegation of the Czech Parliament.
