Tikhanovskaya urges Belarusians not to confront police, not to take to streets

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – The former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has released a video addressed to citizens of Belarus. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya appealed for prudence and respect of the law, BelTA has learned.

In her video Svetlana Tikhanovskaya says: “Dear citizens of the Republic of Belarus! I, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, thank you for participation in the election of the head of state. The people of Belarus has made its choice. With gratitude and warmth I address all the citizens, who have been supporting me all this time. Belarusians! I urge you to be prudent and to respect the law. I don’t want blood and violence. I ask you not to confront police and not to take to the streets. Don’t jeopardize your lives. Take care of yourselves and your friends and families.”
