Sufyan Emiroglu: Belarus-Turkey Business Council helps promote bilateral ties

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – The Belarus-Turkey Business Council helps promote trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and strengthen bilateral ties, head of the delegation of the Turkish members of the Belarus-Turkey working group on industrial and technological cooperation, General Director for industry at the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey Sufyan Emiroglu said as he met with the administration of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in Minsk on 10 September, BelTA learnt from the BCCI.

Sufyan Emiroglu noted that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries has been gaining momentum, which is partly attributed to the efforts of the Belarus-Turkey Business Council and the Belarus-Turkey intergovernmental economic commission. In his words, the establishment of the Belarus-Turkey working group on industrial and technological cooperation will give a new impetus to the bilateral relations. He invited the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to take part in the activities of the group.

Speaking about promising cooperation avenues, the head of the Turkish delegation mentioned automobile construction, metallurgy, wood processing, textile and food industry. He informed that the Turkish side has plans to publish a catalogue of Belarusian companies in the Turkish language containing information about Belarusian business regulations.

The parties discussed major cooperation objectives of the business communities of the two countries.

Deputy Chair of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Natalia Nikandrova informed the Turkish delegation about the activities of the Belarus-Turkey Business Council and invited Turkish businessmen to take part in the forthcoming session of the council that will be held in Turkey on 31 October-1 November during the 8th session of the Belarus-Turkey intergovernmental economic commission.

She also informed the Turkish delegation about the international exhibition center to be constructed in Minsk. The delegation expressed an interest in taking part in the project and in deepening cooperation with Belarusian companies in heavy and light industries.
