Speaker: Belarus views Ecuador as reliable partner in Latin America

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - Belarus views Ecuador as a reliable partner in Latin America, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with the outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ecuador to Belarus Carlos Larrea Davila, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper house of Belarusian Parliament.

Mikhail Myasnikovich praised the personal contribution of Carlos Larrea Davila to the strengthening of ties between Belarus and Ecuador and noted that during his tenure as ambassador to Belarus the relations between the two countries have advanced and got filled with real ideas and projects. Meetings were held at the highest and high levels, joint projects in the field of oil production, agriculture mechanization, engineering and so on were conceived . “We see Ecuador as a reliable partner in Latin America,” Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed.

Ambassador Carlos Larrea Davila expressed confidence that Belarus and Ecuador have the potential to expand trade and economic cooperation. “We have a lot of common ground and we need to share more information about the advantages and conditions of work in our countries. I am confident that the volume of bilateral trade can be higher,” he said. In addition, Ecuador has an interest in advancing its products to the EAEU markets through the cooperation with Belarus. In turn, the Ecuadorian side is ready to help Belarus to take positions in the markets of Latin America.
