South Korea shows interest in visa free regime with Belarus

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) - South Korea shows interest in introducing a visa free regime with Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Belarus Kim Yong Ho in an interview to the Stolichnoye Televidenie TV Channel on 4 February, BelTA has learned.

“South Korea and Belarus are working hard to abolish visas between the two countries. This year Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei is expected to visit our country. During the talks, we would like to conclude an agreement on visa-free travel. I think we will be able to implement the plan in the near future. This would be a good foundation for the development of our relations in all the spheres,” Kim Yong Ho said.

He also took note of Belarus’ high potential in the IT sector. “Your country has already achieved great success in this area, but your potential is much greater, so this is only the beginning,” the ambassador said.

According to Kim Yong Ho, the Olympic program in Pyeongchang would feature the Hospitality Week to demonstrate the most advanced technologies of mobile communication and television. He wished Belarusian athletes every success in the forthcoming games.
