Solid economic ties between Belarus, Germany

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Germany and Belarus are connected by stable economic cooperation. Vladimir Avgustinsky, Head of the Representation of the German Economy in Belarus, made the statement during the German Economy Day in Minsk on 16 November, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Avgustinsky pointed out that the German Economy Day always gathers a large number of experts and representatives of the business circles from the two countries. It is the ninth German Economy Day on record. “The event has already become a good tradition that confirms that Germany and Belarus are connected by solid ties of economic cooperation,” he stressed.

The current German Economy Day will discuss “Professional workforce in Belarus: state, potential, and cooperation”. “The German companies that work in Belarus highly appreciate the importance and the level of training of professional workforce in the country. We conduct business climate polls every year. The educational level of their employees is one of the factors positively evaluated by the German companies,” said Vladimir Avgustinsky.

The German Economy Day has been organized by the German-Belarusian Economic Club in association with the Representation of the German Economy in Belarus and the Embassy of Germany in Belarus.

Two podium discussions will be held as part of the German Economy Day. The first one will be dedicated to discussing the Belarusian vocational training system and the experience of German companies in transferring dual education system elements. This discussion will be held within the framework of an extraordinary session of the Belarusian-German working group on vocational training under the aegis of the Representation of the German Economy in Belarus. Participants of the second podium discussion will look into the training of specialists in higher education institutions and the qualification of managerial personnel in the context of bilateral cooperation.
