Sobyanin: Every tenth kilogram of food in Moscow is Belarus-made

MOSCOW, 10 October (BelTA) - Every tenth kilogram of food in Moscow is Belarusian-made, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said as he met with his Minsk counterpart Andrei Shorets, BelTA has learned.

“An agreement signed three years ago has seriously intensified the cooperation between Minsk and Moscow,” said Sergei Sobyanin. “For the past few years the supplies of Belarusian foodstuffs to Moscow have doubled. Every tenth kilogram of food in Moscow is Belarus-made,” he informed.

The Moscow mayor underlined that residents of the Russian capital appreciate the Belarusian foodstuffs for high quality and acceptable prices.

Days of Minsk in Moscow  2017: a fair of Belarusian goods opened in Revolutsii SquareMinsk is actively involved in the Moscow metro project, both construction and design, Sergei Sobyanin said. “Moscow and Minsk are bound by really brotherly relations,” he said.

Andrei Shorets opined that the cooperation between Minsk and Moscow has been growing stronger. According to him, the Days of Minsk that opened in Moscow today include the economic and fair program and also a great cultural part.

“I am sure that the Days of Minsk in Moscow will give a certain impetus to the development of bilateral relations,” the Minsk mayor noted.

The two capitals signed the documents regulating the list and volumes of food deliveries from Belarus in Moscow in 2018 and a memorandum on cooperation in healthcare.
