Slutsky: Russia follows the example of Belarus’ social policy

MOSCOW, 3 July (BelTA) – Russia follows the example of Belarus’ social policy, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots Leonid Slutsky told media on 3 July, BelTA has learned.

“One day we all woke up into not very comfortable environment in the 1990s, the period when the social policy and many more were almost destroyed. This has never happened in Belarus. We are following the example of Belarus’ social policy, its efficient policy to combat organized crime and many other good things. We follow examples, learn, cooperate and I think this cooperation between our brotherly peoples will continue expanding,” said Leonid Slutsky.

According to the State Duma MP, today Belarus and Russia demonstrate an example of successful cooperation on the post-Soviet space. “The Union State has become a forerunner of all integration processes which have covered not only the post-Soviet space but also a considerable part of the Eurasian continent,” he said. Leonid Slutsky added that the Union State has shown what integration in economy, culture, social and other areas should be.

“I would like to extend greetings to the Belarusian people on the occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and wish all the Belarusians strong health, good luck and love,” said the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots.
