Serbia president’s envoy reveals details of meeting with Lukashenko

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – After meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 29 March the special envoy of the president of Serbia, Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister of Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovic talked to mass media about the purpose of the meeting. Details of the conversation with the Belarusian head of state were revealed, BelTA has learned.

Nebojsa Stefanovic said: “I conveyed President Vucic’s personal invitation to visit Serbia within the next few months to President Lukashenko. It will be a very important visit for us. We will welcome Alexander Lukashenko as the dearest guest. During this visit we would like to touch upon as many economic and political topics as possible.”

The special envoy of the Serbian head of state stressed that it is important for Serbia to advance economic cooperation with Belarus. He noted that there are many fields where the two countries can expand cooperation, increase trade turnover, and reach third-country markets.

Nebojsa Stefanovic also informed the Belarusian head of state about the situation in Serbia and about the latest events in Kosovo. “For Serbia it is very important to continue the close and brotherly relations with Belarus and therefore keep our partners informed precisely and in full about everything going on in our country,” explained the envoy.
