Ryzhenkov: Belarus, Russia build reliable security architecture amid Western militarism

MOSCOW, 25 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are responding to the West’s militaristic policy by creating a sustainable security architecture, Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said at a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 25 November, BelTA has learned.

“The presidents of Belarus and Russia have created precisely the framework of cooperation that allows us to act with confidence in any situation. Constant dialogue at the highest level makes it possible not only to promptly resolve the most complex issues, but also demonstrates the special nature of the fraternal relations between Belarus and Russia. A vivid example of such coordination was last year’s signing of the Treaty on Security Guarantees,” the minister said.

According to him, the primary task of the special representatives appointed under this treaty is to develop mechanisms for implementing the document and to harmonize approaches to its execution. “While Europe is choosing a path of militarization, border closures, and adopting a sanctions policy, we together with our Russian colleagues are building a fundamentally new model: an architecture of security based on mutual trust and allied commitments,” Maxim Ryzhenkov emphasized.

“In this context, our joint work to strengthen trust and create a sustainable security architecture across the common Eurasian space is crucial. Our principled position remains unchanged: security must be unified and indivisible for all,” the minister stated.
