Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit appreciated in Minsk

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Minsk is important for the Belarusian people, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when speaking at a plenary session of the 3rd Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“The current visit of the President of Russia is an important symbolic step. Not only do we, public servants, see this. This is appreciated by Belarusians, Russians. Especially by the people of Belarus. I am saying that not only we, government officials, but also the people of Belarus see that this is not your first visit to Belarus in recent months,” the Belarusian President said.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that this says a lot. “It shows that the Russian leader knows that Belarus is not a foreign land but a good neighbor. We always appreciate this,” the Belarusian President said.
