MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – The surge in confirmed coronavirus cases came as Belarus expanded testing, Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan told the media on 10 April, BelTA has learned.

“We should be prepared for the further increase [of reported COVID-19 cases]. The more tests we will carry out, the more cases will be diagnosed,” Yelena Bogdan said.

In her words, the task of the healthcare system remains unchanged – to prevent the exponential growth in cases, which is observed in a number of countries.

At present, there are enough resources in Belarus to help all the people who need medical attention. “We are coping with it. The measures we passed helped us flatten the curve to get the healthcare system match-fit,” the deputy minister noted. She added that the ministry is analyzing all the information coming from foreign colleagues, including on new medications.
