Regional cooperation named the best way for Union State development

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Stimulating cooperation between regions is the best way for the Union State development, member of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Alexander Varfolomeyev told media during the penal discussion, Mass media as an important factor of interregional interaction, creating a common space of humanitarian values, of the 3rd Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions on 7 June, BelTA has learned.

“Stimulating cooperation between the regions is the most faultless and efficient way. The more the regions cooperate, the stronger the relations between Russia and Belarus are. Thus, the Union State will be able to leave a bigger trace in the history,” the senator said.

Speaking to journalists, Alexander Varfolomeyev also noted: “It was great to hear from your Information Minister that a big number of regional TV and radio companies from the Russian Federation showed interest in the Forum of Regions and our penal discussion in particular. It proves that the things we do is relevant and important. You cannot force reporters pretend or show interest. Our countries and our people need what we do.”

The senator stressed that mass media also unites Belarus and Russia. “Things that are taking place at the high state level and things that are interesting to media and people are equally important,” he noted. Alexander Varfolomeyev believes that as many Belarusian regional mass media as possible should be invited to the next forum, which is likely to take place in Russia.
