MOSCOW, 20 November (BelTA) - OSCE observers assess the elections taking place in the CIS countries based on their outlook, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota told the media on the sidelines of the media forum “The Union State 2030 – Trajectory of the Future” in Moscow on 20 November, BelTA has learned.

“What did you expect from OSCE observers? They say the same thing in all CIS countries. Everything that does not fit their idea of life, their world view, disappoints them, so to speak,” Grigory Rapota said when asked about the OSCE assessment of the parliamentary elections held in Belarus.

Grigory Rapota, who was a member of the CIS observation mission, stressed that the elections were fully compliant with the laws of Belarus and the traditions and political culture that developed in the Belarusian society. “There is legislation of Belarus, there is the Constitution of Belarus, which was supported by the vast majority of citizens. It is very important for us that the elections comply with the rules that the Belarusians set for themselves,” he noted.
