Rapota: Differences of opinion should not damage Belarusian-Russian relations

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Emerging differences of opinion between Belarus and Russia should not damage long-term relations. State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota made the statement after meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 20 September, BelTA has learned.

Grigory Rapota said: “Mutual relations between two countries are always a multifaceted matter. A great number of people are involved ranging from the presidents, who determine development vectors, to simple executors, who deal with concrete matters. Naturally some problems are bound to emerge from time to time. It is important to prevent these problems from antagonizing the relations and radically damaging them.”

The State Secretary noted that arguments emerge in Belarusian-Russian relations from time to time. “Our job is to try to help resolve these issues,” he added.
