Radkov: Belarus demonstrated willingness to stop Ukraine conflict to the whole world

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Belarus has demonstrated readiness to do its best to stop the conflict in southeast Ukraine to Europe and the whole world, chairman of the public association Belaya Rus, Aide to Belarus President Alexander Radkov told BelTA on 14 February.

“The organization of the Normandy Four summit convinced Europe and the whole world that we want and can organize meetings of this level because we are in favor of peace (between neighboring countries. – BelTA’s note),” Alexander Radkov said. “Cooperate, help each other, but to do fight with each other because it is easy to start a war and very difficult to stop it.”

“We can provide a venue for negotiations, create necessary conditions right now and in the future because we strongly hope that it will stop the war. At least, all Belarusians, from ordinary people to the President, were ready to their best to help reach an agreement, to help them (the conflicting parties. – BelTA’s note) find a compromise, a way out from this difficult situation,” Alexander Radkov emphasized.

Speaking about the prospects of relations between Belarus and the European Union against the backdrop of the summit, the chairman of the Belaya Rus association said: “We have always said that we are ready to cooperate with the European countries but with a condition that we will determine our policy and future. Belarus is an independent country. We do not want to influence you, and you should understand that we are as we are. We can give an opportunity for the talks, provide assistance at the level of governments, presidents, political parties but with a condition that you will not infringe on our rights.”

On 14 February Alexander Radkov took part in the session of the public association Belaya Rus. “We share our experience with the regions, develop campaigns, are planning our work in order to make it more efficient,” he noted.

“In the future our organization will sign a number of cooperation agreements, including with the influential bodies of the CIS and non-CIS countries,” the chairman of the organization said.
