MOSCOW, 19 December (BelTA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he watched the live broadcast of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko's address at the Belarusian People's Congress the previous day as he held a major end-of-year news conference in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
"Yesterday I watched the live broadcast of the Belarusian president's speech at the Belarusian People's Congress. I must congratulate him. It was a very emotional, powerful and insightful’ address,” Vladimir Putin said.
“I want to express my gratitude to him for his assessment of the state of Russian-Belarusian relations,” the Russian president added.
