Prime minister: Branches of Belarusian companies should be able to secure their economic stability

BARANOVICHI, 3 August (BelTA) – Branches of major Belarusian companies in the regions should be able to take care of the stability of their economic status. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement during a working trip to Brest Oblast on 3 August, BelTA has learned.

“At present the situation is complicated in many enterprises located in the regions because the markets targeted by many Belarusian large mechanical engineering companies have experienced a bit of downfall and the volume of orders in manufacturing cooperation schemes is dropping. It has never been more important for branches of the companies to be able to stay afloat by making their own products and taking care of their own sales. By doing it, they will secure their economic stability,” noted the Prime Minister.

As an example Andrei Kobyakov cited the Baranovichi machine tool factory that he had visited earlier that day. It is a branch of ZAO Atlant. Despite all the difficulties the enterprise is already starting to demonstrate some dynamics that can be seen as a gradual transition to the sustainable economic growth trajectory, noted the Prime Minister. In particular, the enterprise’s output growth rate totaled 114.4% in H1 2016. The enterprise is improving its technological parameters: it is starting to make new compressor models as well as washing machine motors. Vasily Zhavnerchik, Director of the Baranovichi machine tool factory, said that the enterprise is one of the first CIS manufacturers to start making products out of high-durability synthetic iron, which sell well on the Russian market. This year the enterprise has started selling merchandise to Serbia. The country will get another batch of merchandise soon. Serbia is the seventeenth country where the enterprise exports its merchandise.

Prime minister: Branches of Belarusian companies should be able to secure their economic stabilityThe Belarusian head of government concluded that the Baranovichi machine tool factory is an example of how things should be done in today’s complicated situation. “Prospects are clearly visible here. It is also important that while being part of the industrial group Atlant the manufacturing division has its own considerable market. It is an example to follow for the enterprises that have parent enterprises.”

Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov went on a working trip around Brest Oblast on 3 August. Apart from the Baranovichi machine tool factory Andrei Kobyakov visited the Belarusian-Russian furniture-manufacturing joint venture OOO Dipriz, the Baranovichi dairy factory, and was made familiar with progress of the harvesting company in the agricultural enterprise Agrokombinat Mir. Brest Oblast Governor Anatoly Lis accompanied the head of government during the working trip.
